What We Do

Intruder Alarms

Why bother with expensive ARC monitoring to receive alarm notifications? There is a more simple subscription free technology which uses a WiFi digicom. This is an onboard device which sits in our state of the art alarm systems which sends instant alarm notifications to your smart phone through an app. We use both wired and wireless systems dependant on the premises and you the customer.

We can also integrate wireless smoke alarms and nurse call pendants along with a broad range of detection which could include shock or dual tech sensors to avoid false alarm activations.

The alarm SAB (self activating bell) is the most crucial part of the alarm system. Sometimes these can appear neglected or unused on the exterior of a property which is the deterrent to intruders and the first line of defence.

At SGFS we offer external bell replacements and alarm panel or PIR detector upgrades on wired or wireless systems which can contribute to the safety of your home or business.

Fire Alarms

We install, maintain and upgrade both addressable and conventional systems to the British standards BS 5839. Conventional fire alarm panels are ideal for a smaller commercial premises whilst addressable is used as a more sophisticated option to give the customer or fire fighters a better chance to find the cause of any fire alarm activation. UK fire alarm regulations only state that your fire alarm system must be ‘adequately maintained’, however BS 5839 recommends that a fire alarm system should be inspected by a competent person at least every 6 months and the government recommends following this standard. In fact, if you work out of large premises, we would recommend a quarterly service, as there are many more components to your fire alarm system, and therefore more opportunities for faults to occur. This is why we offer comprehensive service contracts to suit all.

Furthermore, it is recommended that all AFD (automatic fire detection) such as smoke & heat detectors should be replaced every 10 years. This is the same for 230v smoke & heat detection which should be found in every household.

These will often need batteries replacing every 6 months. A steady beep will often be heard coming from the detector if the battery dies.

All of our engineers are FIA trained and can provide expert knowledge & advice.
